A protest project

I worked on this project off and on for several years, trying to perfect the technique for creating a giant blow-up sculpture. I created it in the spirit of Scabby the Rat- a general protest mascot for any crappy situation, anything that smells bad, things that are bullshit, etc. The debut usage for the big poop was outside Philadelphia City Hall on Thursday, December 19th. This was the day for the final vote on whether or not the proposed 76ers Arena in Center City would go forward. I spent 2.5 years protesting this project. In the end, billionaires be billionaires and politicians be idiots, and the Sixers opted to stay at the sports complex in South Philly. Having been involved in the city wide effort to prevent this bad development has been a powerful and enlightening experience.
