Installed interactive sound sculpture. Dental chair, vinyl tubing, light, fabric, speakers, acrylic, sound. 2013.
The viewer is invited to recline in the chair under the painfully bright light and listen.
This piece was intended to make the viewer extremely uncomfortable upon approach, but physically (if not psychologically) comfortable once they have recl;ined in the chair. This is about what you think it is about.
Sideshow. Installation with sound. Wood, fabric, paint, speakers, sound. February and October 2010.
The announcement for this piece simply said "Sideshow. Performances daily between 11 and 12". Viewers likely expected to see the artist doing a performance,, but may have been surprised to find that they were the ones performing.
The viewer unknowingly enters the stage through a curtain on the side and suddenly finds themselves literally in the spot light, on stage, being heckled by a bodiless audience of speakers.
