A wise man would probably say something like “Life’s a journey, dumbass.” And he’s right. We each have an immeasurable capacity for intake (and output, but we’ll get to that part later). With five senses and a personality to go with it individualism is born. Solely, we observe and calculate and react… and at some point, near the advent of adulthood, have the realization that this world is what we make of it and that this “journey” is what defines everything that is unique. And you can’t plan it, this journey, like it’s your next vacation or a grocery list.
You must treat time like a grand pilgrimage. Not unlike Pilgrims, artists are persons in motion – passing trough territories not their own. Allow everything to quantify and cultivate you. Then make art about it. Create. Express.
It is in celebration of this sentiment that Hancock Garage invites you to gather, in this season of thanks, and toast to the human elements that both unite and individualize us.
